Your new Sunshine Station Superhub

An investment of more than $4 billion by the Australian and Victorian governments will build a new Sunshine Station Superhub and create space for a future rail line to Melbourne Airport and a future electrified Melton Line.

Building a new superhub at Sunshine Station will untangle Melbourne's most complex rail junction outside the CBD. The new superhub will unlock capacity for more than 40 trains an hour to travel through Sunshine. Two new platforms will unlock more capacity for additional services for the growing communities of Melton and Wyndham Vale.

Works will span more than 6km from West Footscray to Albion and will enable future works on a new rail line to Melbourne Airport and electrification of the Melton Line. Getting the job done now at Sunshine Station will reduce disruptions for commuters when these future projects get underway.

Works on the new superhub will kick off in early 2026, with the job done by 2030.
