We are delivering stage 1 of Melbourne Airport Rail, with the Australian and Victorian governments investing more than $4 billion to deliver 6km of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion. The works will include transforming Sunshine into a transport superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
From 7am to 6pm, Tuesday 27 October to Friday 6 November, crews will work within VicTrack land along the Rupert Street fence line to install underground cables and services to support rail operations. If weather conditions are favourable, work will be completed sooner.
What to expect
- Construction vehicles entering and exiting the work area.
- Some short-term noise, dust and vibration from excavation and non-destructive digging activities.
- Traffic controllers on site to safely manage pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.
- Temporary protection fencing around trees.
- The pedestrian and cycling path will remain open throughout the works, with short intermittent delays if required.
