Parkville Station will provide train access for the first time to Victoria’s world-renowned education, health and research precinct and relieve pressure on local trams and roads.

The station has 4 entrances:

  • the main entrance on Grattan Street outside the University of Melbourne and
  • 3 entrances on the corners of Grattan Street and Royal Parade.

These entrances will bring passengers to the doorstep of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and a short walk from the Royal Women’s Hospital.

The station will create a pedestrian underpass below busy Royal Parade, providing another way to cross the road and move between the university and hospitals.

An accessible tram stop on Royal Parade/Elizabeth Street near Parkville Station will make it easier to switch between trains and trams.
