Time for kick-off at Veneto Club
Soccer field upgrades are now complete, allowing more training and games for FC Bulleen Lions while North East Link is built.
We’ve worked closely with the Veneto Club to deliver these exciting upgrades, the first to be completed under North East Link’s $68 million investment in local sports grounds.
The upgraded soccer field includes a new synthetic soccer pitch, pitch lighting and behind goal and boundary fencing. New club change rooms have also been built to accommodate more teams and match officials.
The new soccer facilities will allow more matches and training at night, with a brand-new synthetic soccer pitch providing a stronger playing surface that allows triple the usage compared to the previous natural turf field.
Veneto Club can now accommodate all FC Bulleen Lions teams including those who will be relocating from Bulleen Park, until construction of the new Templestowe Road Soccer Facility is complete.

Yarra East Main Sewer works are underway
Works have started at Veneto Club to move a section of the Yarra East Main Sewer to make way for North East Link. The sewer runs under Bulleen Road and will be moved to the east to connect back into the existing sewer at the Eastern Freeway. Some of these works will occur within the Veneto Club car park, occupying several parking bays. Works are expected to be complete in November 2021.
