Day and night works in Watsonia, Macleod and Yallambie

With tunnelling underway, we're starting work on the new Greensborough Road Boulevard and the widening of Lower Plenty Road.

What we'll be doing

Activities to support tunnelling works will take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During this time, we’ll aim to minimise noise and light impacts away from your property as much as possible.

Managing construction impacts

Throughout our works, you may experience noise, light, dust, and vibration. We manage these impacts through real time monitoring, water carts and street sweepers, targeted lighting, and reducing noise and vibration within the construction zone. You may also see workers and machinery, in and around construction areas, and an increase of trucks removing dirt from our worksites.

Track our TBMs Our TBMs are powering ahead, excavating the North East Link Tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. Both TBMs will take planned breaks throughout their journey from Watsonia to Bulleen to undertake regular maintenance. M80 Ring Road Completion

Work is progressing to build the new road connection to North East Link over the Hurstbridge Line, including extending the rail tunnel between Grimshaw Street and Elder Street, and rebuilding the bridge over the rail line at Grimshaw Street. In February and March, construction will continue with 24-hour works in the rail corridor between Watsonia Station and Grimshaw Street.

From 11pm, Friday 31 January to last service, Thursday 27 March, buses replace trains between Heidelberg and Eltham stations. Plan your journey by visiting ptv.vic.gov.au or call 1800 800 007 before you travel.
