Box Hill: September works update

1 September 2024 to 1 October 2024

Works are underway in Box Hill to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm Saturday
Night works 6pm to 7am Monday to Sunday
Extended works 1pm to 6pm Saturday

The following works will be carried out during September.

Station Street, Box Hill	Day works, night works and extended works: Ongoing until April 2025	Moving underground services	Reduced to 1 lane in each direction between Thames Street and Irving Avenue Route 903 bus stops closed (Thames Street/ Station Street). Nearest available bus stop is located at Severn Street/Station Street Up to 80 car spaces closed Traffic management in place Pedestrian detours Low levels of noise
Irving Avenue, Box Hill	Day works and extended works: Ongoing until April 2025	Moving underground services	Traffic management in place Up to 18 car spaces closed

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to
minimise dust
Installing road safety and detour signage
Maintaining access to homes and businesses
Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
Using noise blankets on equipment
Using water and dust suppressants.
