Works are underway in Clayton to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works -  7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm Saturday
Night works - 6pm to 7am Monday to Saturday

The following works will be carried out during April.

  • Establishing a worksite
  • Tree removal
  • Moving underground services
  • Temporary closure of Remembrance Gardens
    (note these closures will remain in place until 2025 to support ongoing works in the area)
  • Driveway and laneway closures
  • Car space closures
  • Pedestrian detours
Carinish Road, ClaytonDay/night works - from early April for approximately three weeks

  • Intermittent road and lane closures in both directions between Madeleine Road and Clayton Road
  • Access for buses and emergency vehicles maintained
Haughton Road, ClaytonDay/night works - From early April for approximately
five weeks
  • Moving underground services
  • Intermittent full road closures in both directions during the day and overnight between McGregor Street and Clayton Road
  • Intermittent road closure for eastbound traffic between McGregor Street and Clayton Road
  • Local access to Nicholson Court maintained
  • Up to 21 car spaces closed in stages
Link Road, ClaytonDay/night works - from early April for approximately five weeks

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community. How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Keeping Clayton Road open in both directions during day-time hours and most nights
  • Maintaining access for emergency vehicles and buses at all times
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Positioning equipment as far as possible from businesses and residents and turning it off when not in use
  • Positioning light towers away from properties.
