Works are underway in Monash to deliver SRL East for Melbourne and Victoria.
We’re establishing the site at the location of the SRL East station at Monash.
This will involve the demolition of the existing building at 20-24 Howleys Road, setting up fencing around the site and changes to the driveway and footpath.
These works will be carried out from late October for up to 5 months.
These works will be undertaken during day time working hours.
Daytime working hours
- 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
- 7am to 1pm, Saturday

- Earthworks to level the site and drainage installation.

How we will manage our works
These works may generate dust, noise and vibration. We will minimise impacts to the community by:
- Scheduling works to minimise impacts
- Monitoring air quality
- Using water trucks and dust suppressants where required
- Covering truck loads when transporting materials from site to minimise dust
- Positioning equipment as far as possible from businesses and turning it off when not in use.
Noise impacts
As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction.
The project will work with businesses and residents to reduce impacts and provide support when needed.

Traffic changes
Traffic changes are needed to complete these works. Vehicle and pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained at all times with help from traffic controllers when required. Please see the table and map below for details of traffic changes in the area.

Future works
Gas relocation works will be undertaken along Ferntree Gully Road and Normanby Road after the completion of these works. We will provide further details about what to expect in the coming months.
