Site investigations will be undertaken in Mount Waverley in preparation for early construction on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL).

SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill will reduce travel times and link people to major employment, health, education and retail destinations in Melbourne’s east and south east.

The new SRL station at Glen Waverley will be one of the best-connected on the network – giving locals improved access to key destinations across Melbourne.

What are site investigations

Site investigations help the project team better understand important information about the underlying ground conditions and where utilities and services are located.

This data informs the project's design, planning, and construction methods used.

What we are doing

Underground site investigations will be undertaken at Damper Creek Reserve from early August.

Site investigation activities include:

  • Using equipment to drill and dig into the ground
  • Installing monitoring equipment
  • Collecting soil, water and pavement samples for testing.

What to be aware of

  • Geotechnical investigations will be undertaken at Damper Creek Reserve
  • Traffic controllers and signage will be in place to assist with pedestrian access and wayfinding
  • Road and driveway access will be maintained at all times
  • There will be periods of medium level noise associated with these works
  • A site compound will be set up to enable this work to be carried out safely, and this area will be reinstated at the completion of works.

When

Site investigations will take place for approximately two weeks starting from 3 August 2023.

These works will be completed during normal daytime working hours.

Normal daytime working hours:

  • 7am to 6pm, Monday
  • Friday 7am to 1pm, Saturdays
