Burwood: February works update

19 January 2026 to 1 March 2026

Works are underway in Burwood to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works: 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturday

Night works: 6pm to 7am, Monday to Saturday

24 hour works: Monday to Sunday

The following works will be carried out during February.

Acoustic sheds

Two out of three acoustic sheds will start taking shape over the coming months. These purpose-built structures will be lined with sound-absorbing panels and are designed to contain noise, dust, and light spill from tunnelling operations.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to community by:

Maintaining access to businesses and homes
Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
Installing road safety and detour signage
Positioning light towers away from properties
Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
Using water and dust suppressants.
