Works are underway in Glen Waverley to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturday

The following works will be carried out during July 2026.

  • Installing fencing and hoarding
  • Excavation
  • Piling
  • Capping beam construction
  • Safely removing hazardous material, if found
  • Traffic management and pedestrian detours in place
  • Medium to high levels of noise, vibration and dust
  • Light spillage

Note: Timing of works may change due to the service provider.

To create the space to safely build the new station, Montclair Avenue and Coleman Parade will remain closed for the duration of SRL East construction.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Maintaining access to the Montclair Avenue car parks
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Turning off equipment when not in use
  • Using noise blankets on equipment
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Coordinating disruptions with other construction companies in the area.

There will continue to be large equipment and machinery delivered to and from the Glen Waverley worksite. Most deliveries can be moved on a normal truck load during the day, however there will be some oversized loads at night to reduce traffic impacts.
