Works are underway in Glen Waverley to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturday

The following works will be carried out during June 2026.

  • Road closure between 44 and 50 Montclair Avenue for duration of SRL East construction
  • Road closure between 52 and 54 Montclair Avenue until mid June
  • Permanent closure of the Montclair Avenue car park
  • Closure of footpath next to 44 Montclair Avenue for up to 2 days in mid to late June
  • Traffic management and pedestrian detours
  • Medium to high levels of noise, dust and vibration
Glendale Street, Glen Waverley Day works: Ongoing until late 2026
  • Site establishment
  • Excavation
  • Piling
  • Permanent road closure between Montclair Avenue and Coleman Parade
  • Closure of up to 90 car spaces
  • Traffic management and pedestrian detours
  • Medium to high levels of noise, dust and vibration.

Note: Timing of works may change due to the service provider.

To create the space to safely build the new station, Montclair Avenue and Coleman Parade will remain closed for the duration of SRL East construction.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Maintaining access to the Montclair Avenue car parks
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Turning off equipment when not in use
  • Using noise blankets on equipment
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Coordinating disruptions with other construction companies in the area.
