Works are underway in Glen Waverley to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Day works 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm Saturday
Night works 6pm to 7am Monday to Sunday
Extended works 1pm to 3pm Saturday and 7am to 1pm Sunday

The following works will be carried out during March.

Night works:
From early March for up to 3 weeks

  • Works on the additional access point to the Glendale Street car park
  • Road closure east of Florence Street to Glendale Street until mid March
  • Intermittent road closure between Florence Street to Myrtle Street from mid March
  • Traffic management and pedestrian detours
  • Medium to high levels of noise
  • Light spillage
Glendale Street, Glen Waverley

Day/Extended works:
ongoing to mid 2025

Night works:
From mid March for up to 3 nights

  • Moving underground

  • Up to 13 car spaces closed within the Waverley RSL car park until early March
  • Up to 35 car spaces closed within the Montclair Avenue car park
  • Up to 7 car spaces closed within the Glendale Street

Day/Extended works:
From mid March for up to 1 week

  • Site investigations
  • Lane closure between Southdown Avenue and Bogong Avenue

Note: Timing of works may change due to weather or ground conditions.

Note: There may be disruption or short term outages to underground services associated with commissioning works. The utility provider undertaking these works will provide further information to impacted residents and businesses.

Glen Waverley Traders will be open for business during works.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Maintaining access to the the Waverley RSL, Glendale Street and Montclair Avenue car parks
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Turning off equipment when not in use
  • Using noise blankets on equipment
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Minimising light spill
  • Coordinating disruptions with other construction companies in the area.
