Works are underway in Glen Waverley to deliver the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East.

What we are doing

Day works 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturday

Extended works: 6pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday and 1pm to 10pm, Saturday

The following works will be carried out during November 2026.

  • Medium to high levels of noise, vibration and dust
  • Light spillage
Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley Day/extended works: Early November until mid December 2026
  • Building a new walking and cycling path
  • Footpath closure between Myrtle Street and Glen Waverley station for up to 5 weeks
  • Traffic management and pedestrian tours in place, including arrangements for people requiring mobility assistance
  • Medium to high levels of noise, vibration and dust
  • Light spillage

Note: Timing of works may change due to weather or ground conditions.

There will continue to be large equipment and machinery delivered to and from the Glen Waverley worksite. Most deliveries can be moved on a normal truck load during the day, however there will be some oversized loads at night to reduce traffic impacts.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Maintaining access to the Myrtle Street and Bogong Avenue car parks
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Turning off equipment when not in use
  • Using noise blankets on equipment
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Coordinating disruptions with other construction companies in the area.
