Monash: March works update

25 February 2025 to 31 March 2025

Works are underway in Monash to deliver Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East for Melbourne and Victoria.

What we are doing

Night works 6pm to 7am Monday to Saturday
Day works 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm Saturday
Extended works 1pm to 6pm Saturday and 7am to 6pm Sunday

Additional traffic changes will be in place around the Notting Hill area throughout early 2025 as we complete utility relocation works in the area. If there are disruptions to your utility services, you will be notified by your provider directly.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The Project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

Access to businesses will be maintained during businesses hours, with help from traffic controllers where required
Pedestrian detours in place
Staging works along Howleys Road and Normanby Road to minimise traffic disruption
Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
Installing road safety and detour signage
Positioning equipment as far as possible from businesses and residents and turning it off when not in use
Safely removing hazardous materials in accordance with EPA regulations
Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels.
