What's next at the emergency support facility site?

Following site establishment, major construction, including piling and excavation of the intervention and ventilation shaft will begin. Before excavating the shaft, we will build an acoustic shed to reduce construction noise and dust impacts on the local community.

We will continue to notify and engage directly with residents and businesses to provide further information about upcoming works, what to expect and how distruptions will be managed.

Impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The project supports businesses and residents to continue to live, work, study and shop in their community.

Please contact us on 1800 105 105 to discuss support available if you are impacted by our works.

How we will manage our works

We will minimise impacts to the community by:

  • Accessing site via the existing gate at High Street Road only
  • Installing road safety and detour signage
  • Transporting materials from site in covered trucks to minimise dust
  • Maintaining access to homes and businesses
  • Installing fencing and hoarding to reduce construction noise
  • Using street sweepers to keep roads clean
  • Using water and dust suppressants
  • Monitoring noise, dust and vibration levels
  • Positioning equipment as far as possible from residential properties and turning it off when not in use
  • Scheduling works to minimise impacts
  • Having an arborist onsite for tree and vegetation removal and pruning activities to retain trees where possible.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we progress the delivery of SRL East at Mount Waverley.
