We are working to finish the majority of West Gate Tunnel Project works on Fogarty Avenue between now and the end of 2022. The next closure on Fogarty Avenue is scheduled from Monday 4 July to Saturday 23 July 2022, between The Avenue underpass and the Footscray Hockey Club.
The road closure is required so we can carry out drainage, fire hydrant, kerbing and abutment works before re-surfacing the road.

A further road closure, between Wembley Avenue and The Footscray Hockey Club, is scheduled for August to re-surface this section of road. We will notify impacted residents directly.
What you can expect
- Work completed behind safety barriers with construction vehicles accessing work areas.
- Increased construction activity and vehicles in the area.Increased traffic on surrounding streets and delays when travelling through the area.
- Water-spray trucks and road sweepers used in the local streets around our worksites.
- The works listed in this notification will mean the bulk of works on Fogarty Avenue will be completed. Works on the shared user path, freeway technology systems, the installation of permanent noise walls, freeway construction, landscaping and pedestrian bridge works will continue – including occasional night works.
