One-way setup and road closure

A one way traffic set up is now in place on Simcock Avenue and will remain in place until the end of September 2021. Additionally, Simcock Avenue will be closed to traffic between Raleigh and Booker streets for five days in mid-August. We will be in touch closer to the time once the dates for the closure are confirmed.

This is so we can relocate a utility service underground by trenching across Simcock Avenue and reinstate the road surface.

While detours are in place, access to businesses on Simcock Avenue will be maintained, as will pedestrian access around the work area. Please follow all traffic management directions and detour signage.

To minimise disruption to road users and local businesses we have been able to maintain a one way traffic set up and only close a section of Simcock Avenue temporarily. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will reopen the road so traffic can continue travelling through the area.

What you can expect during the works

• Work will be completed behind safety barriers with construction vehicles moving in and out of work areas.
• Access to businesses will be maintained – please follow detour signage and direction of traffic controllers on site.
