The Boronia Station Upgrade will be complete in early October, with commuters set to benefit from a modern and accessible station precinct.
Following trains returning to the station on 4 August, crews have continued working in the area to deliver the final pieces of the project.
Accessibility will be improved with the new community plaza connecting the station forecourt on Lupton Way with Dorset Road, an updated pick-up and drop-off zone on Lupton Way, upgraded footpaths to both station entrances, and more bike hoops and better connections for cyclists.
In a win for cyclists, a new shared zone for vehicles and cyclists with a reduced speed limit on Lupton Way will improve safety and connections to the station.
The project will also add more greenery across the precinct, with more than 50 new trees and about 3,000 plants and shrubs to be planted across the station area, in the new pocket park and the new landscaped plaza.
To celebrate the completion of the new station, locals are invited to attend a community event at Boronia Station from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 17 October.
The event will be held at Lupton Way, Boronia, and feature family-friendly activities and the new Boronia Station precinct.
Crews will remain in the area until mid-November, when the site office will be removed.
