Trains have returned to Boronia Station, while works continue on the Boronia Station Upgrade to deliver a more modern and accessible station precinct.
Passengers can now catch the train at Boronia Station with access to the platforms via lifts or stairs at the western entrance on Erica Avenue.
While buses replaced trains last week, crews worked around the clock to get the station ready for passengers and will continue to work in and around the station precinct until spring to complete the project.
Buses will replace trains between Bayswater and Belgrave from 8.30pm, Friday 21 August to last service, Sunday 23 August to allow crews to carry out roadworks on Lupton Way, pave the new plaza, station concourse, platform and forecourt areas, paint, and put the finishing touches on the station precinct.
Until Wednesday 30 September, crews will also work 24/7 at times around the station precinct and on Dorset Road.
The western station entrance on Erica Avenue will close for finishing works from late August to early October, with the new Lupton Way station entrance open to passengers via a footpath from Dorset Road and Chandler Road. Lupton Way will reopen to traffic in late September.
When the upgraded station is completed in spring, both station entrances will be open, an expanded concourse will improve connections over the rail line, and the station precinct will be more accessible, with an updated pick-up and drop-off zone on Lupton Way.
