We are excited to announce that the $600 million Mernda Rail Extension will be built by John Holland, and will include a new Hawkstowe Station in South Morang.
The build will create up to 3000 new jobs and the 3 stations will service more than 8000 passengers a day.
There'll be new bike and walking paths with plenty of bike storage and up to 2000 new car spaces across the three new stations.
Work will kick off next year, with trains running on the new line by 2019.
Information sessions will start in December where locals can see the latest designs and talk to the project team.
