Calder Park temporary road opens to traffic ahead of schedule

Back to Newsfeed

After a 6 day road closure, Calder Park Drive has re-opened ahead of schedule and drivers are now using the new temporary road.

The project team worked 24/7 during the closure to finish the second stage of the temporary road.

Works included:

  • laying 1255 tonnes of asphalt
  • installing 1.8m high pipes underground
  • and removing close to 4000 cubic metres of dirt.

The new temporary road keeps traffic moving on Calder Park Drive, while we build the new road bridge next to it.

In the coming months, we will continue building the foundations of the new bridge, relocate major services, including power lines underground and start works on the retaining walls and shared use path.

Thank you for your patience while we get the job done. The dangerous and congested level crossing at Calder Park Drive will be gone in 2025.
