The Level Crossing Removal Project was honoured to receive a high commendation at the 2018 Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in the category of Government and Civic Leadership for its Training for the Future program last week.

The commendation recognises the significant impact that the program has had on the lives of Victorians, including those from marginalised and disadvantaged communities, workers from declining industries and women in the rail and construction industries.

'While the real success of the Training for the Future Program is seeing how it has changed the lives of participants, the recognition is a great honour that everyone at LXRP can be proud of and share in,' said Brad Giddins, Director of Industry Capability and Inclusion.

The Training for the Future program aims to deliver a diverse, sustainable and inclusive pipeline of rail industry talent by investing in Victorian industry capability and providing training and employment opportunities.

You can find out more about the program by visiting the Training for the Future webpage.

The Victorian Multicultural Awards acknowledge the exceptional contributions of individuals and organisations who promote cross-cultural understanding, celebrate diversity, support new migrants and refugees, and enhance social cohesion in Victoria.
