Since the Keon Parade level crossing was removed in May and new Keon Park Station opened to passengers last month, we have worked 24/7 to complete works in the area, including:
- opening more than 160 car parks
- pouring concrete for shared pathways
- finalising station platform works
- landscaping around the station precinct.
We have planted more than 44,500 plants, shrubs and grasses and 200 trees around the station. The expansive landscaped forecourt on Keon Parade and along High Street is now open for the public to enjoy, bringing colour to the station precinct and enhancing biodiversity.
Car parks open
Two new commuter car parks are open, with access from High Street and Keon Parade. The High Street car park has more than 100 spaces, including accessible spots and a designated pick-up and drop-off zone, while the Keon Parade car park has more than 60 spaces.
New Hughes Parade signalised crossing
We’ve installed a new signalised pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Hughes Parade and High Street, providing safe and convenient access to Keon Park Station. Works to connect the lights are underway and they’re scheduled to be switched on in the coming months.
The dangerous and congested Keon Parade level crossing was removed in May 2024 by building a 750m rail bridge over the road. A brand-new Keon Park Station with modern facilities for passengers opened to passengers in June.
