Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s a piling rig!
Check out Reservoir’s newest piece of machinery – a 38m tall piling rig.
This rig weighs 75 tonnes and will help build the foundations for the new rail bridges which will take trains over Keon Parade.
Throughout July and August, construction crews on site at Keon Parade will install concrete piers and crossheads across Keon Parade, pour the concrete slab for a section of the new Keon Park Station and start piling to prepare the foundations for the new rail bridges.
For more information, visit our fact sheet on how we build a rail bridge.
We’re removing the dangerous and congested Keon Parade level crossing by building a 750m long rail bridge over the road and building a brand-new Keon Park Station with modern facilities for passengers.
With construction now underway, Keon Parade will be boom gate free and the new Keon Park Station open to the community in 2025.
