Piling on the works at Glen Huntly

Back to Newsfeed

We’re removing 2 level crossings at Neerim and Glen Huntly roads by lowering the rail line into a trench and building a new Glenhuntly Station.

Works are progressing well in Glen Huntly, and there’s a lot happening on the ground as crews continue to deliver piling, utilities and relocate drainage along the rail corridor.

In preparation for the ‘big dig’ in 2023, we’ll work 24/7 in the rail corridor from 9pm Tuesday 23 August to 4am Saturday 27 August 2022. Buses will replace trains between Caulfield and Moorabbin from 8.30pm Wednesday 24 August to 4am Saturday 27 August.

Tram Route 67 will continue to operate as normal along Glen Huntly Road.

During this time, while trains aren’t running, we’ll continue piling works with 4 rigs on site installing concrete piles along Royal Avenue in Glen Huntly and between Neerim Road and Lord Street in Caulfield East.

The new Glenhuntly Station, which is set to open in 2023, features lifts and stairs down to the station platforms, improved lighting and security cameras, and a striking landscaped station forecourt leading to a new tram stop on Glen Huntly Road to make it easier for commuters to change between tram and train services.
