Site investigations are continuing in Seaford, as part of work to remove another 2 dangerous and congested level crossings on the Frankston Line.
The level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street are being removed by building separate rail bridges over the roads, with a new, modern and accessible Seaford Station.
Since late last year, crews have been checking ground conditions, locating underground services and inspecting rail equipment along the rail corridor.
To safely conduct these site investigation works, Armstrongs Road will be closed between Railway Parade and Kananook Creek from 7am, Monday 2 February until 6pm, Friday 6 February. Detours for drivers and pedestrians will be in place.
The investigative works are essential to understanding ground conditions and will inform the project’s concept designs, set to be released later this year.
Final designs will be released and construction will kick off in 2027, with both crossings removed and the new Seaford Station open in 2029. For more information, sign up to project updates.
The Frankston Line will be level crossing free by 2029, making road and rail journeys safer and more reliable.
