We’re encouraging shoppers in Pakenham to support local traders by entering our Spend & Win competition.
Construction is well underway to build the 2.5km rail bridge over McGregor Road, Main Street and Racecourse Road and 2 new stations at Pakenham and East Pakenham.
Work continues on piling and lifting L-beams, piers and crossheads on site.
Main Street will be closed at the level crossing for 18 days from Tuesday 21 February to Friday 10 March, as we install a large concrete pier and crosshead on the road, slightly south of the level crossing.
These mammoth concrete segments are 7.5m tall and will be poured with 49 cubic metres of concrete on site, so can’t be safely installed while the road is open.
Detours will be in place via Henry Street and John Street, with pedestrian access maintained across the rail line.
