Thank you for your feedback, Newport

Back to Newsfeed

From late April to mid June, we asked the Newport and Williamstown North community to provide feedback on the Newport Level Crossing Removal Project. The insights from your survey responses, alongside technical requirements, will help inform our designs.

Thank you to the residents, traders and local organisations which provided feedback across the two surveys. We received 284 community survey responses and 52 planning submissions from the community.

We are now reviewing your responses and a community consultation report will be available later this year.

All planning submissions received will be included in a consultation summary report, which will inform the Minister for Planning’s assessment of the project.

We’re removing the Maddox Road, Newport level crossing by building 2 rail bridges over the road. We’ll close the level crossing at Champion Road and build a new link road to connect Champion Road to Maddox Road directly via Akuna Drive.
