Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert and Union Road, Surrey Hills will reopen on Saturday, 13 May following almost 3 months of round-the-clock works to remove the dangerous and congested level crossings and build a new Union Station.
The new roads are supported by 37 massive concrete beams over the new rail trench, ensuring cars and pedestrians can safely travel through Mont Albert and Surrey Hills.
Each beam weighs between 30 to 73 tonnes and is about 20m long!
Our teams are working 24-7 to lay track and ballast, install signalling gantries and work on the station platforms.

Works will continue into spring on station car parks, open spaces, landscaping, and finishing touches.
