Parkdale locals have been given ‘front row’ access to the level crossing removal works, with the highly sought after community walking tours.
The monthly walking tours provided an up close and personal opportunity to hear directly from project team members about the progress of removing the level crossings at Warrigal and Parkers roads and building the new Parkdale Station.
With more than 50 people attending across 8 tours between March and June, there were plenty of opportunities for questions about the upcoming disruptions on the Frankston Line and time for insightful comments from tour participants, with one participant exclaiming “It’ll be lovely coming up on the train looking out, so exciting.”
With a construction blitz set to start from 9pm, Sunday 14 July the boom gates at Warrigal and Parkers roads will be gone for good, and the new Parkdale Station open in early August 2024.
