Bulleen’s new soccer facilities are a step closer, with construction now underway on a new sports precinct to ensure local sports clubs continue to thrive as part of North East Link.

The new soccer grounds on Templestowe Road will be ready for play in 2024 and will benefit residents and hundreds of soccer players from local clubs.

The new sport precinct will feature:

  • 3 soccer fields, including one synthetic pitch
  • a pavilion with facilities for all ages and genders
  • a 176-space car park
  • pedestrian and cycling connections to the Yarra River.

A large piling rig has arrived at site ready to install support columns for the new pavilion and earthworks are underway to prepare the site and move 10 Olympic swimming pools of dirt.

The new soccer fields are being built as North East Link construction continues at sites along Bulleen Road, getting ready to build a major interchange connecting the North East Link tunnels to an upgraded Eastern Freeway.

The North East Link Program has already invested $68 million investment into local sports across the north east, including delivering new and upgraded facilities at Ford Park, Binnak Park, and Veneto Club.

Development Victoria is managing the delivery of the Templestowe Road project with construction contractor 2Construct, while Manningham Council will manage usage of the new facilities when complete.
