Upgrading Manningham Road to make way for North East Link Interchange

Back to Newsfeed

Major works are forging ahead on North East Link, with crews getting ready to build the new Manningham Road interchange in Bulleen.

These new entry and exit ramps will redirect 14,700 vehicles a day from Bulleen Road to the North East Link tunnels, returning local roads to the community and preserving the historic River Red Gum on Bridge Street.

To create the space needed to build the tunnel entry and exit ramps, there will be changes to the way cars and trucks move through Bulleen, with all eastbound traffic on Manningham Road to be directed via Bridge Street from Sunday 24 March. These traffic changes will be in place for approximately 2 years.

Some works have already been done to prepare for these changed traffic conditions, with the final stages to take place in late March and early April.
