Calling artists for Marshall Station artwork

Back to Newsfeed

Local Geelong artists have the opportunity to create permanent public artworks at Marshall Station as part of the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication.

Expressions of interest are open for two unique creative opportunities available at the station, focusing on the industrial heritage of the Geelong area, including the Grovedale Cement Pipe Factory.

A writer, text-based artist or graphic designer is being sought to create a series of text or graphic based storytelling pieces.

A sculptural artist is also being sought to create a standalone sculpture or a series of sculptural elements.

Both works will play an important role in acknowledging the rich industrial history of the area, creating a sense of identity for passengers as they arrive at the station.

Expressions of interest are open until Sunday 10 September, 2023.
