Marshall Station looped in for bus access

Back to Newsfeed

A new dedicated bus loop is now open to passengers at Marshall Station.

The loop separates local bus services and replacement V/Line coaches from the expanded car park at the station, improving pedestrian safety and connectivity for passengers.

The new bus loop features improved shelters and seating, with buses and coaches to enter and exit from Marshalltown Road, with all other vehicles to use Drews Road to access the station car park.

Marshalltown Road will also be used as the main access point to the station precinct for pedestrians and cyclists, with a new walking and cycling path running parallel to the bus loop and the new forecourt.

It comes as part of major upgrades underway at Marshall Station, with the new station building opened in mid-June, featuring a V/Line office, accessible toilets and a sheltered waiting area for the first time.

Work is continuing on the upgraded car park and forecourt, with passengers to benefit from more than 200 new car parking spaces with improved lighting and CCTV at the end of August.

The new forecourt will feature increased bike hoops and a Parkiteer for cyclists providing more options for passengers to access the station, utilising the more than five kilometres of walking and cycling paths being delivered as part of the project.

Coaches are replacing trains between Geelong and Warrnambool for all or part of the journey until Sunday 25 August.
