Eastern Freeway disruptions in February

Back to Newsfeed

To support the construction of a new Bulleen Road interchange, we’re building elevated ramps that will connect the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels.

Weekend closure of Eastern Freeway

A full weekend closure of the citybound lanes on the Eastern freeway between Doncaster Road and Bulleen Road will be in place from 10pm, Friday 6 February to 5am, Monday 9 February 2026.

During this time, we’ll close various citybound entry ramps, turning movements and bus stops to help ease traffic congestion. Street parking in citybound directions along Doncaster Road between Greythorn Road and Burke Road will also be closed. Visit Eastern Freeway disruptions page for more details of this closure.

Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected. On road signage will be in place to guide motorists and commuters through the area.

Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp closure

We’ll also close the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp from 9pm, Wednesday 4 February to mid-March to complete critical 24/7 works, including starting to build a new shared path underpass and new noise walls.

Delays up to 20 minutes are expected during this closure.

You can expect further overnight and weekend disruptions in 2026 as we continue works on the Eastern Freeway. To stay informed, road users can check the latest updates on the Eastern Freeway disruptions map and subscribe to receive SMS and email alerts.

We thank motorists and the community for their ongoing patience as we deliver these essential upgrades to the Eastern Freeway.
