Falls Creek students learn about local landslip

Back to Newsfeed

Students at Falls Creek Primary School enjoyed a visit from crews working on the Bogong High Plains Landslip rectification.

Alongside construction partner Whelans Group, the Major Road Projects Victoria team caught up with close to 40 prep to Grade 6 pupils to chat about the landslip and how the project is tracking.

The project team delivered an interactive presentation, involving video, several quizzes and an activity which demonstrated how the engineering technique of creating benches helps to stop material from reaching the road.

Students loved the interactive presentation and games and we loved seeing them get involved!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of crews to reopen Bogong High Plains Road, the school was able to welcome students back to the mountain for the Winter Season.

This key alpine link remains under single lane traffic control for the remainder of the official snow season. For more info please view our Bogong High Plains Road Landslip webpage.
