Road users in Pakenham can look forward to safer and smoother journeys as we forge ahead with the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road Upgrade.

Crews working on the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road Upgrade recently clocked more than 750,000 work hours, as we continue to make strong progress on a project that is delivering an extra lane in each direction between Princes Freeway and Manks Road.

In the project’s latest milestone, all new lanes on the upgraded intersection at Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road and Livestock Way recently opened to traffic.

As part of these works, Livestock Way was widened to include a new through-and-left-turning lane and a new through-and-right-turning lane, improving access to local businesses.

The Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road Upgrade will also deliver:

  • new traffic lights at Greenhills Road
  • a new bridge over Deep Creek near the water recycling plant
  • new roundabouts at Hall Road, south of Deep Creek and Ballarto Road
  • a new shared walking and cycling path
  • safety barriers along the road.

Once complete, the upgrade will:

  • lower the risk and severity of crashes
  • improve traffic flow and travel times
  • provide an upgraded alternative north-south route in the Pakenham South area
  • introduce a new link to the south-east walking and cycling network.

The Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road Upgrade is expected to be complete by 2025.
