Taking a big step closer to the finish

The Camms Road intersection was opened this week, signalling another major milestone as works continue towards the completion of major construction on the Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road Upgrade.

With the new-look Camms Road / Rochester Parade intersection at Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road now open, cars and pedestrians were able to use the upgraded intersection featuring longer turning and through lanes, reducing congestion at the intersection.

The project is now on the home stretch towards its August completion date with the Berwick-Cranbourne Road intersection approaching completion.

Camms Road is one of 9 major upgraded intersections we’ll complete on the project. The 4.5km upgrade also features 9 kms of new walking and cycling paths to make it easier and safer to move around Cranbourne.

Throughout June and July crews will work to complete the final layer of asphalting and line marking section-by-section along Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road to finish major construction works on the project.

We recently reopened Gwenton Avenue to Berwick-Cranbourne Road. We’ll continue to work in the middle of Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Sladen Street to build the new centre medians and install safety barriers until late June.

The upgrade will improve safety and reduce congestion on Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and ease traffic conditions on the South Gippsland Highway through to the Cranbourne town centre.
