We hit a major milestone on the Narre Warren North Road Upgrade with the successful installation of the final culverts at Troups Creek.
As part of the project, we’ve worked hard to protect and improve Troups Creek.
Due to the widening of the road, the existing culverts underneath Narre Warren North Road required extending and upgrading to support the additional traffic. To support additional traffic lanes, we’ve poured approximately 250 cubic meters of concrete and installed a total of 18 lengths of culvert at Troups Creek.
These newly installed self-cleaning culverts, along with new rock beaching at each end, will minimise sediment and erosion, improve the overall water quality of the creek and create new areas for wildlife to thrive.
In the coming months we’ll also be supplying the area with native and indigenous plants, further enhancing the natural ecosystem.
Check out our video below to see how we installed the culverts and hear how we’ve been protecting the environment during our works.
