Forty seven local community groups in the inner west will be sharing in $470,000 worth of funding as the recipients of the latest round of West Gate Neighbourhood Fund Grants.
In a significant win for these communities, to date, $10 million from the Fund has flowed into the inner west with more than 260 community led projects now funded in the Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong city council areas.
Successful recipients receiving funding in this round include:
- court upgrades to seating for the Altona Lacrosse Club,
- funding for the 2025 Blacksmiths Festival,
- new safety equipment and tools for the Hobson’s Bay Men’s Shed Network and
- a series of summer events delivered by Spotswood Traders Association.

The West Gate Neighbourhood Fund supports community projects that celebrate history, support diverse communities, focus on arts, and provides new opportunities and skills for communities, increasing participation, and bringing the community together.
It is targeted to the Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong Council areas to support communities most impacted during construction of the West Gate Tunnel Project.
