Plan your journey – major works at Millers Rd interchange

Back to Newsfeed

As part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, we’re widening the West Gate Freeway to create more capacity and reduce travel times. We are also upgrading key intersections to make it easier to get on and off the freeway.

From 19 August 2022, our crews will be carrying out major works around the Millers Rd interchange.

The roads and ramps that will be closed during this period are:

19 August to mid-September

  • Full closure of Millers Road inbound exit ramp (towards city)
  • One lane on Millers Road southbound will be closed.

Mid-September to end October

  • Full closure of Millers Road inbound exit ramp (towards city)
  • Full closure of Millers Rd outbound entry ramp (towards Grieve Parade)
  • Millers Road northbound – full closure

Mid-September to early October

  • Full closure of Primula Road
  • Millers Road northbound – closure of one lane

Closing these roads and ramps provides the safe space needed for our crews to work around the clock and get our work done as quickly as possible.

With the completion of this set of works by end October, nearly all of West Gate Tunnel Project’s works around Millers Road will be completed.

Please visit our dedicated page on the Spring works campaign for further information and detours. There will be speed reductions to ensure the safety of both road users and our crews.
