Tree planting at Watsonia Primary School, Watsonia

Ahead of major construction for North East Link, the M80 Ring Road Completion and the Eastern Freeway Upgrades, trees started being planted early in local parks, reserves, streets and schools.

Since 2020, more than 3000 trees have been planted in close to 20 suburbs across Melbourne’s north and east.

Locations for tree planting are being chosen working closely with local councils and other land owners and managers including Parks Victoria.

Close to 795 survey responses in 2020 from people in 100 suburbs have also helped choose locations for trees to be planted. You can read the community survey report.
