In January, we’ll start major works around the intersection, including closing the Point Cook Road entry ramp to the Princes Freeway, Geelong-bound.
From 10pm, Monday 12 January 2026 until early March, we’ll close the Point Cook Road Geelong-bound entry ramp to the Princes Freeway.
Point Cook Road heading north, will be reduced to one lane for 2 nights:
From 10pm Monday 12 January to 5am Tuesday 13 January
From 10pm, Thursday 22 January to 5am, Friday 23 January
During this time, we’ll:
- install temporary concrete barriers around the works area
- start building a new slip lane from Point Cook Road to the entry ramp
- install new drainage, kerb, footpaths, and road pavement at the entry ramp.
Detours will be in place to provide access to the Princes Freeway heading outbound (Geelong-bound):
- from Point Cook Road detours via Sneydes Road and Dunnings Road to Boardwalk Boulevard
- from Altona Meadows access the Princes Freeway towards Geelong at Newland Street.
