The Structures Rehabilitation Package replaced, repaired, strengthened and rehabilitated bridges and culverts (structures) across Melbourne’s north and south-east and upgrade barriers to increase safety. The structures were identified as priority locations for works as part of long-term maintenance of the road network.

Rehabilitation
At other locations, the bridge structures were rehabilitated to improve the lifespan of the structure by:
- removing the existing surface
- making the structure stronger with additional steel or concrete
- laying a new road surface.
Cathodic protection
We also undertook cathodic protection works at 2 locations, which helped to protect against corrosion. Watch our video for more information on this process.
