Monash University Halls Suburban Rail Loop

Participation or entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of the following Terms & Conditions:

1. This Monash University Halls Suburban Rail Loop SMS promotion (‘Competition’) is conducted by Suburban Rail Loop Authority or ‘SRLA’, ABN 47 474 521 596, a body corporate established under the Suburban Rail Loop Act 2021 (Vic) of Level 21, 222 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Website: bigbuild.vic.gov.au/projects/suburban-rail-loop, Telephone: 1800 105 105 (‘Promoter’).

2.  In these Terms & Conditions:

  • a) A person who is eligible to enter the Competition is referred to as ‘You’ or ‘Your’.
  • b) A person who has entered, attempted to enter, participated in, or attempted to participate in the Competition is referred to as a ‘Participant’; and
  • c) Capitalised terms have the meanings given to them in these Terms & Conditions.

Competition Prizes 

3.  There will be  10 individual Competition winners

4. By participating in this Competition, You have the chance to win one (1) of ten  (10) meal vouchers, each voucher being redeemable for up to four (4) meals from Monash Halls Café at Monash University Clayton Campus, 58 College Way, Clayton VIC 3800 valued at a total of $48.40 each (“Prize”). The total Prize pool is valued at $484. The Prize, or any unused portion of the Prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified.

Eligibility

5.  The Competition is only open to you if you meet all of the following eligibility criteria at the time of entry:

  • a) you are an individual;
  • b) you are a current student primarily residing  in Monash University Student Accommodation located on the Monash University Clayton Campus ;
  • c) you are a current resident of Victoria;
  • d) you are not an employee, contractor, or supplier of the Promoter;
  • e) you are not an immediate family member of a person not eligible under paragraph 5(d); and
  • f) you have not previously subscribed to the Suburban Rail Loop (‘SRL’) SMS update notification for Monash University Halls.

Entry into the Competition

6. Competition entry opens at 12:01AM on Monday, 4 May 2026 and closes at 11:59PM on Sunday, 14 June 2026 (“Entry Period”).

7. To enter the Competition, You must scan the designated QR code and submit your mobile phone number to sign up as a new subscriber to Monash University Halls SRLSMS notifications during the Entry Period.

8. By entering the Competition, you will be added to the Monash University Halls SRL SMS subscriber list for updates. You can opt out of the Monash University Halls SRL SMS subscriber list at any time by clicking on the opt-out link in any SMS sent to you by SRLA and opting-out.

9. Entries are limited to one entry per person.

10. You consent to the Promoter publishing and using your full name for legal and promotional purposes in the event that you are a Competition winner.

11. Any entry received after the expiry of the Entry Period will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed, or misdirected entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any late or misdirected entries or for any delays or failures in any telecommunications service or equipment.

12. Validity of entries and selection of entries is at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

The Competition Draw and Winners

13. Skill plays no part in determining Competition winners.

14. All Competition entries received during the Entry Period will be placed into future Draws in this Competition conducted by the Promoter from the date of entry.

15. The Promoter will place all Competition entries in the draw and will select  Competition winners by randomly selecting entries (Draw).

16. There will be a total of 10 winners across a total of 3 Draws.

17. Each Draw will be conducted at 270 Clayton Road, Clayton VIC 3168 at 10:00 am  on each of the following dates:

  • a) Monday 18 May 2026. On this date, the Promoter will draw 3 winners (Draw 1);
  • b) Monday 1 June 2026. On this date, the Promoter will draw 3 winners (Draw 2); and
  • c) Monday 15 June 2026. On this date, the Promoter will draw 4 winners (Draw 3).

18.  Each valid entry drawn will receive a Prize.

19. If a winning entry is invalid or does not comply with these Terms & Conditions, that entry will be disregarded, and the Promoter will select a replacement winner by randomly selecting one of the remaining Competition entries.

20. The Promoter’s decisions in relation to the Competition are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Notifying Winners and Collection of Prizes

21. The Promoter will notify the winners by texting and calling the telephone number that the winner used to enter the Competition. If a winner is unable to be contacted and has not claimed the relevant Prize, then a replacement winner will be drawn at the expiry of 7 days from the initial notification in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

22. Prizes must be collected by each winner from 270 Clayton Road, Clayton[TC14.1][S(14.2], or as otherwise notified by the Promoter to the winner, within 7 days of the notification, or any attempted notification by the Promoter. Proof of age, identity and eligibility will be required upon collection.

23. If for any reason a winner does not collect the Prize in accordance with these Terms & Conditions (if applicable), or respond to reasonable attempts by the Promoter to contact the winner, the Prize will be forfeited and a replacement winner will be selected by drawing the next valid entry at random, excluding any Participant who has already been awarded or forfeited a Prize.

24. Prizes must be redeemed within their respective validity period and in accordance with any conditions specified on them or by any trader voucher (if applicable).

25. If a Prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter, it may substitute a Prize with a similar prize to the same or greater value than the original Prize.

Verification and Governance

26. All entries to the Competition may be subject to verification by the Promoter. If the Promoter requests verification, it will reimburse the Participant for any reasonable costs incurred in complying with this condition. A Participant must deliver to the Promoter (by a means determined by the Promoter) copies of any documents the Promoter may request establishing eligibility to enter or win, including evidence of age, employment, residence or identity. The Promoter may make one or more requests for such documents. Once any relevant documents have been identified and requested, the Participant must deliver to the Promoter copies of any document within 7 days of the request. A Participant must provide access and allow the Promoter to inspect and copy any original documents within 7 days of a request by the Promoter.

27. The Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, declare any or all entries made by a Participant invalid if the Participant:

  • a) fails to establish their entitlement to enter the Competition to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction; or
  • b) produces documents that, in the Promoters’ reasonable opinion, are illegible, stolen forged, reconstructed, altered, incomplete or tampered with in any way; or
  • c) in the Promoter’s opinion, tampers with the entry process or benefits from such tampering; or
  • d)  in the Promoter’s reasonable opinion, submits an entry which is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

General Conditions

28. This Competition and any associated Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria. By participating in this Competition, each Participant submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

29. The Promoter may at any time appoint a contractor or agent to run or manage this Competition, or any element of this Competition, on its behalf.

30. If for any reason the conduct or operation of the Competition is interfered with or disrupted in any way by a cause outside the reasonable controls of the Promoter (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, pandemics, civil unrest, strikes, tampering, computer bugs or viruses or technical failures), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence the Competition.

31. If any provision of these conditions is unenforceable for any reason, it will be severed and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

32. All references to times and dates in these Terms & Conditions are references to times and dates in Melbourne, Australia. All reference to currency are a refence to Australian Dollars.

Liability

33. The Promoter is not liable for any prize being lost, damaged, uncollected or undelivered.

34. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability, or merchantability of a prize.

35. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with a prize or the Competition, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

36. Nothing in these conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify the rights of a Participant under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

Privacy

37. Personal information is collected to enable the administration, publicity, and marketing of the Promotion, including the announcement of the winners’ names on social media or other promotional materials. Personal information collected, used and disclosed in connection with this Promotion is subject to the SRLA Privacy policy and the SRLA Privacy Collection Statement.

38. By law, the Promoter must keep certain records for a period of 3 years after finalisation of the Competition to ensure:

  • a) accurate financial accounting of the Competition;
  • b) accurate accounting for all entries; and
  • c) accurate report of the distribution of Prizes.

Wild Works Student Design Competition

Participation or entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of the following Terms & Conditions:

1. This Wild Works Student Design competition (‘Competition’) is conducted by Suburban Rail Loop Authority or ‘SRLA’, ABN 47 474 521 596, a body corporate established under the Suburban Rail Loop Act 2021 (Vic) of Level 21, 222 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Website: bigbuild.vic.gov.au/projects/suburban-rail-loop, Telephone: 1800 105 105 (‘Promoter’).

2. In these Terms & Conditions:

  • a) A person or team of up to 5 (five) people who is eligible to enter the Competition is referred to as ‘You’ or ‘Your’.
  • b) A person (or group of people) who has entered, attempted to enter, participated in, or attempted to participate in the Competition is referred to as a ‘Participant’;
  • c) The entirety of Your submission into the Competition, including design overview, illustrations, dimensions, intended construction materials, any and all specifications and written descriptions is referred to as ‘Design’; and
  • d) Capitalised terms have the meanings given to them in these Terms & Conditions.

Competition Prizes

3. There will be 1 (one) Competition winner.

4. By participating in this Competition, You have the chance to win the following subject to these Terms & Conditions:

  • a) Your Design to be further developed and delivered in the real world as part of the Suburban Rail Loop East project (‘Project’); and
  • b) Your name inscribed on a plaque affixed to the final constructed structure, serving as an enduring recognition of your contribution,

(collectively, the ‘Prize’).

Eligibility

5. Entry to the Competition is only open to you if you meet the following eligibility criteria at the time of entry. You are:

  • a) a current resident of Victoria aged 18 years or older;
  • b) not an employee, contractor or supplier of the Promoter; and
  • c) enrolled as an undergraduate or master’s student at Monash or Deakin University, or
  • d) enrolled as a student at Box Hill Institute.

6. Entry to the Competition is limited to one per person, whether submitted individually or as part of a team.

Entry in Competition

7. Competition entry opens on 16 April 2026 at 12:01AM and closes on 15 May 2026 at 11:59PM (“Entry Period”).

8. To enter the Competition, You must:

9. Validity of entries and selection of entries is at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

10. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • a) the Promoter may use elements of Your Design for the purposes of creating promotional materials;
  • b) in the event You are the Competition winner, You may be contacted for the purposes of creating promotional materials;
  • c) if Your Design wins, Your assistance may be required to help adapt Your Design; and
  • d) You will use Your best endeavours to collaborate for the above purposes.

11. You consent to the Promoter publishing and using Your photograph and full name for legal and promotional purposes.

12. Any entry received after the expiry of the Entry Period will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed, or misdirected entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any late or misdirected entries or for any delays or failures in any telecommunications service or equipment.

13. By entering into this Competition, You hereby grant to the Promoter a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, (including the right to adapt, enhance or modify the design and to sub-license) to use and exercise the intellectual property in Your Design, including but not limited to for the purposes of further development and delivery of your Design, and for promotional activities such as marketing materials, media campaigns and other public communications related to this Competition.

14. You agree to do all things reasonably necessary, execute all documents, and take all further actions required to give effect to, perfect, or confirm the granting, transfer, or assignment of the intellectual property rights of your Design. This includes, but is not limited to, the execution of any additional instruments or documents required to ensure the registration, enforcement, or transfer of such rights, and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, or procedures relating to intellectual property.

Competition evaluation and winners

15. A panel will be formed by the Promoter to judge the entries and select a winner (Judging Panel).

16. Selection of the Judging Panel may be determined at the sole discretion of the Promoter and comprise of any individual that the Promoter deems fit.

17. The Competition winner shall be selected by the Judging Panel in its absolute discretion.

18. If a winning entry is invalid or does not comply with these Terms & Conditions, that entry will be disregarded, and the Judging Panel will select a replacement winner at its absolute discretion. This process will be repeated as necessary until a valid winner is confirmed.

19. The Promoter’s decisions in relation to the Competition are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Notifying Winners and Collection of Prizes

20. The Promoter will notify the winners by an email to the email address provided with the entry. If a winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts are made after 7 days from the initial notification, the Judging Panel will select a replacement winner at its absolute discretion. This process will be repeated as necessary until a valid winner is confirmed.

21. If for any reason a winner does not accept the Prize in accordance with these Terms & Conditions (if applicable), or respond to reasonable attempts by the Promoter to contact the winner, the Prize will be forfeited and the Judging Panel will select a replacement winner at its absolute discretion, excluding any Participant who has already been awarded or forfeited a Prize. This process will be repeated as necessary until a valid winner is confirmed.

22. If the Prize, or any element of the Prize, is or becomes unavailable or unachievable for any reason, the Promoter may substitute the Prize with one $500 gift card or cash at its absolute discretion, regardless of whether the Competition winner is an individual or team.

23. Prizes must be redeemed within their respective validity period and in accordance with any conditions specified on them or by any trader voucher (if applicable).
