From 1 November, additional services will run between Westall and West Footscray stations through the Metro Tunnel.
These services will run every 20 minutes between 10am and 3pm weekdays, and 10am and 7pm on weekends.
Some weekend services will extend to East Pakenham.
The existing weekday and weekend timetables will continue as normal, and run through the City Loop until a new timetable arrives on 1 February 2026.

Benefits for all Victorians: new connections and more choice
From 1 February 2026, all trains on the Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury Line will run through the Metro Tunnel.
The Metro Tunnel doubles the size of Melbourne’s underground rail network as we move towards becoming Australia’s biggest city.
By creating a second rail line under the city, the Metro Tunnel will ease congestion in the City Loop for more reliable services on other train lines.
For the first time all Victorians, including regional passengers, will have access to Parkville’s world-class hospitals and university by train, via Parkville Station.
You will also be able to get to important Melbourne landmarks including the Shrine of Remembrance and the Royal Botanic Gardens as well as St Kilda Road’s employment hub by train for the first time from Anzac Station.
