Meet your new stations

The Metro Tunnel adds 5 new stations to Melbourne's train network.

Benefits for all Victorians: new connections and more choice

The Metro Tunnel will mean more ways to move around Melbourne when it opens early December.

From 1 February 2026, all trains on the Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury Line will run through the Metro Tunnel.

The Metro Tunnel doubles the size of Melbourne’s underground rail network as we move towards becoming Australia’s biggest city.

By creating a second rail line under the city, the Metro Tunnel will ease congestion in the City Loop for more reliable services on other train lines.

For the first time all Victorians, including regional passengers, will have access to Parkville’s world-class hospitals and university by train, via Parkville Station.

They will also be able to get to important Melbourne landmarks including the Shrine of Remembrance and the Royal Botanic Gardens as well as St Kilda Road’s employment hub by train for the first time from Anzac Station.
