Binnak Park will be a great place to watch and participate in local sport.
Sports upgrade works are progressing at Binnak Park, with new facilities to be enjoyed by sports clubs and the community next year. These upgrades are being delivered as part of a $68 million investment in local sporting facilities while we build North East Link.
Once complete, Binnak Park will include a new pavilion, which will provide an uninterrupted view of the ground, new social space for club functions, and accessible and female friendly change rooms.
Upgrades will also include a fully reconstructed sports field, new cricket practice nets, improved lighting, an electronic scoreboard and more parking spaces.
As part of works on the oval, much of the existing soil will be removed and replaced before new turf is laid. You may notice trucks carrying out these important works during December and January.
Plenty Valley Cricket Club and Watsonia Sporting Club will join the park’s existing user, Parade St Damians Junior Football Club, when upgrades are complete in mid-2021.

Work crews have begun excavating the existing oval at Binnak Park by removing soil and other materials, making way for the new oval and the construction of the pavilion.
