North East Link’s Independent Environmental Auditor (IEA) plays a key role in making sure the program and our contractors comply with more than one hundred strict environmental requirements.
This report provides a 6-month summary of audit activities and outcomes for the North East Link Early Works program from August 2024 to January 2025.
It summarises audit activities during the reporting period, audit findings and the status of actions taken to address previous audit findings. It looks at our Early Works contractors’ compliance with the Environmental Management Framework (EMF) and Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs).
As the Early Works program is now complete with no subsequent works to be undertaken, this reporting period contained the final IEA audit for North East Link Early Works program and as such, this is the final standalone 6-month summary report. Across the reporting period, the IEA audited construction activities relating to rail advance works, which was delivered by MTM as the managing contractor.
Project activities were considered to be compliant with the EMF and EPRs audited across the reporting period, with the exception of 1 opportunity for improvement identified during the reporting period.
Corrective actions had been undertaken by MTM to close all findings identified by the compliance audit and close-out of corrective actions.
As the scope of Early Works is now complete, a letter has been provided to document and confirm that the responsibilities of the IEA for the North East Link Early Works have been discharged. See below.
